"Abortion is Here, so Why Not Humanize it?"

Why not humanize abortion by legalizing it? This is how passionate RH Law advocates would punch you between your eyes.

Believe it or not, I understand. It's just that what I find disconcerting about mainstream RH advocates (yes, I've had civil discussions with them) is that, while they say RH does not allow abortion, these advocates sympathize with it.

Yes, they have their reasons. They say, the practice is there. As we speak someone is suffering from unsafe abortion. So, why not allow such abortion to take place in a safe environment?

Churches changing bylaws after gay marriage ruling?

As a Roman Catholic and as a member of a Vatican City-sanctioned worldwide community of Christian couples - the Couples for Christ - one can't help but feel being at the direct firing line in this battle to preserve the institution of marriage as a tripartite covenant: God + one man + one woman.

Source: Fox News

That's only because it seems that the Roman Catholic Church has enough literature that proclaims its position on marriage. These literature - the Bible, the encyclicals, Canon Law, etc - predates most countries that exist today. Break-away churches don't have that, ever since a lot of them rejected the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Junk Pork Barrel!

Hi Friends! It pains me that I can't join the non-political rally in Luneta today to junk the pork barrel system of the country. I've been in Luneta yesterday to join the CFC ANCOP Global Walk and it is heart-warming to know that there are many people from my community -- Couples for Christ -- who'd be joining today's rally for the abolition of PDAF.

What I can't do physically, let me compensate in spirit through this prayer.

Back in Service in Couples for Christ at Quezon City

For a year since we went back to Quezon City in June 2012, we were sort of just floating members of the community (Couples for Christ or CFC). Now we're back into action, just like the years before mid-2012. How did that happen, exactly?

CFC 32nd Anniversary at Quirino Grandstand. We carried the Youth for Christ banner of the Metro Manila West B Sector. In Calamba City, we used to serve as YFC Coordinator.

With CFC having many chapters all over the country, we really had no clue which chapter we would be part of upon coming back to Quezon City from an 18-month "retreat" in Calamba City, 60km south. We only wished it would be a different chapter.

Why You Should Ask Yourself "Who Am I?" Today More Than Ever

"Who Am I?" The professor in  my philosophy class decades ago mentioned that this question was one of the oldest questions that man asks about himself. I find that question quite challenging and annoying myself.

Who Am I?
"Universe Closed" by Brian Arnold

We wish we don't have to answer this question at all. It is most convenient to evade it. After all, there is society around us, which has norms that we all just have to acquiesce to.  In fact, society today wants exactly that - acquiescence.

5 Reasons Why The Images of Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI Got Me Excited

Images and videos of Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI kneeling together have filled the pages in the internet, right? I haven't given them much thought, except lately. Let me share with you how that happened.

In the midst of being busy with work and business, I thank the Holy Week for affording us some time to slow down and finally let our thoughts run freely. You just sort of sit back and watch your thoughts fill an imaginary screen in front of you, completely alive with imaginary surround audio and vibrations under your imaginary seat.

The Next Pope: Is it Our Business to Speculate?

The upcoming conclave to elect the next Pope of the Catholic Church has generated a lot of frightening materials in the internet. You can see that for yourself by searching for articles about the Catholic Church in the last 7 days or signing up for a Google Alerts account (which is Free with your Gmail account) and request for daily listing of internet material about the Catholic Church.

"Vatican City" by Doug Wheller

The real question each Catholic should ask today is this: Is it our business as Catholics to speculate about who the next Pope should be?

When Grace Isn't Exactly Free?

Is grace free? Oh yes it is. But why does the Church collect an amount when you ask for a wedding or baptism? That is the question posed by Sherilyn in her blog post of the same title (minus the question mark).

As Catholics who went through the same exercise, allow us to share our thoughts on this question.
