Cool Catholics, as far as this blog is concerned, refer to the Catholic laity who pursue their own paths to holiness according to the teachings of the Church -- while pursuing goals for their family and business. Dig that!
You'll see us in neck ties and coats or standard office attire, or in sports stadiums, or in battle fields, speaking the language of the business and corporate world or the sports world, or whatever world we're in -- while holding on to the rosary in our pockets. Some Catholics feel like undercover fugitives in the middle of their very friends at work or in their neighborhood. That's exactly where the rubber hits the ground.
It takes the power of the Holy Spirit during Pentecost to enliven the Christian spirit of many Catholics (and Christians in general, for this matter) and grant us the courage to make the sign of the cross before eating in a fine dining restaurant. It takes a lot of courage to do that in the beginning, by the way.
So, here we are, Cool Catholics of the world. Cool because we're in this world. Catholic because we are out of this world. That's what Christianity for the laity is all about on a day-to-day basis.
